Private paths in public repositories
Share a public source projection while retaining protected paths.
One repository, scoped views
Repository visibility and path visibility answer different questions. A public repository can expose a permitted projection while keeping restricted source content protected.
| PATH | VISIBILITY | PUBLIC VIEW |
|---|---|---|
| src/ui/ | Public | Visible |
| internal/ | Private | Redacted |
| incidents/ | Embargoed | Absent |
What a viewer can see
A public viewer sees the permitted projection, not an alternate source authority. Search and notification surfaces use metadata-safe records. Protected content is not embedded in a preview to hide it with CSS.
Review the policy
Use the repository's path visibility and access settings to understand classifications and effective policy. Read changes alongside the source projection they affect.
